Hon. Jeff Mbah kicks off COVID- 19 Intervention Project in Oji River.

The Member representing Oji River in the Enugu State House of Assembly and Chairman House Committee on information and Communication, Hon. Geoffrey A. Mbah on Thursday 9th April, 2020 launched COVID- 19 Intervention Project in Oji River. The event which took place at the council headquarters in Oji River had the executive chairman of Oji River Hon. Barr. Frank Udemezue, immediate past commissioner for rural development Hon. Ozo Gab Onuzulike, PDP chairman Oji River chapter Hon. Godwin Anekwe, Oji River PDP woman leader, Hon. Mrs Ginika Okefi, President Generals of various communities, some coordinators of Geoffrey Mbah campaign organization, head of department (H.O.D) health Oji River, Mrs Blessing Nwachukwu, development chairmen administrators, some councillors and some party faithfuls in attendance.



In his speech, Hon. Geoffrey Mbah, who is fondly called D Magic Mayor, said that the essence of the programme was to sensitize people of his constituency on a need to maintain personal hygiene, social distancing, and to provide relief materials like foodstuffs, hand sanitizers, face mask, clothes and bucket for washing. He maintained that his action was to complement government efforts to eradicate the ugly disease called Coronavirus and stressed  that the programme would be sustained if the need arises in other to eliminate covid 19 and equally prayed for a quick end of the pandemic. 
Hon. Jeff Mbah,also lauded and commended the leadership of ITU in their quest to provide relief materials to its people through freewill donation in its platform. He encouraged other communities to emulate what the ITU is doing in terms of Convid 19 intervention. He equally appealed to the local government chairman to use such platform to reach to the communities in sharing relief materials. 



In his address, the executive chairman of Oji River Barr. Frank Udemezue thanked Hon. Mbah for his kind gestures, prayed that God will replenish his pocket as he decided to remember people of his constituency especially at this period of Covid 19 pandemic. He directed  the PGS, councillors and coordinators of Geoffrey Mbah campaign organization to ensure that the foodstuffs reach to the needy in the various communities. He announced that Barr. Uche Anya in Awlaw ward had distributed money to some less privileged  in Awlaw ward and urged others to emulate him.

The event featured sensitization of people  on personal hygiene,  distribution of wrappers to the women for mothers day celebration and distribution of food items to the various PGs to share in their various communities.

Let's join hands to stop the spread of Covid 19 as Enugu State is in the hands of God.
