COMMOTION AT OJI RIVER MARKET

TODAY AT OJI RIVER MARKET 

Mrs Theresa Oyekezie sells water in the shop( Left) with the Geepee Water tank.

Her neighbour -Mrs Mercy Chukwudi who sells Animal feeds in the other shop (Right) complained that the water running out from the Water Tank was affecting and damaging her products and decided to report the matter to the Police at the Oji Divisional Police Hqtrs.

The DCO referred the matter to the Market Union -Oji Marketers and Traders' Union (OMATU) where Hon Greg Ujah holds sway as the Chairman.

The OMATU deliberated on the matter and ruled that Mrs Theresa Oyekezie should shift the Geepee tank away from its former location.

Mrs Oyekezie was given till Saturday, July 13 to comply. Unfortunately, she failed to follow the Directives.

This therefore provoked the Market Union to swing into action yesterday to seize the Water Tank. Hon Greg Ujah led the Market Union task force. However,an attempt by the Union to seize the Tank was vehemently resisted by Mrs Theresa Oyekezie.

Reports indicate that she attacked Hon Greg Ujah and his Group when they came to seize her Tank. Of course a Pandemonium ensued at the Spot but Eye Witnesses say Hon Greg Ujah never layed his hands on Mrs Theresa Oyekezie.

Hon Greg Ujah has since paid a visit in the Hospital to Mrs Theresa Oyekezie who he described as his Aunt. Hon Ujah has also undertaken to offset all her medical bills
