DEVELOPING DIVISIONS AMONG NDI OJI
It has become obvious that we are in for a period of political manipulations void of sincere intention to say the truth irrespective of whose ox is gored. The worse deceit is self-deceit. We have continued through our words and action to suggest that we may be deceiving ourselves because many people will not own the boldness to say the truth.
I will not subscribe to sugar coated impression that all is not well when it is clear that some people are enjoying this drum beats of war. The irony of war is that we don’t know who it will consume. War is neither glamorous nor attractive. Everybody is a victims not to talk when is among brothers.
The slogan now is that Oji has never been divided as it is today. The pertinent question is who is dividing us?
My sincere observations are that sequel to the past developments, these questions below may have added to the factors that heat up this division and in-house fighting among us
- Why will Hon Geff Mbah ignore the invitation to attend Award ceremony of Former DS and his welcoming party organized by a very transparency team in Oji River?
- Why will he not be civil enough and explain the reason for that action?
- Why will he decide not to extend a hand of friendship to Rt Hon Don Uzogbado by formally inviting him for his inauguration ceremony?
What else can be more dividing than these observations? I strongly believe these actions and inactions greatly contributed to where we are now and things are degenerating very fast.
You may agree with me that, had it been wisdom was allowed to direct our actions, these past activities that have become the platform for our division would have been the foundation of our unity.
The basic truth is that you cannot talk of meaningful development when there is no enabling environment for peaceful co-existence among the leaders.
We need men of noble character to say the truth and condemn what is condemnable. Supporting evil in the open space for whatsoever reason is setting a bad precedence which will do nobody any good.
The first point of action is an urgent need to create platforms for peace re-engineering process in Oji River by calling a spade a spade because there was never a good war or a bad peace.
We need people that will not be afraid to raise their voice for honesty. Don't bend; don't water it down; don't try to make it logical; don't edit your own soul according to the fashion of lies. “Truth never damages a cause that is just.”
Oji River lets say the truth and embrace unity
