For records, June 12 will remain sacrosanct in our national journey. It will always remind us about a democratic journey embarked upon by our people.
Beyond the fact MKO ABIOLA was denied his right as the winner of that most coveted election, we must not throw away the fact that election is a process not an event. If it was really a process that was painstakingly monitored by all and came to the conclusion it was credible, who actually made it to be so?
Prof Humphrey Nwosu was in charge of the INEC then. This man defined integrity and resisted military even at a gun point. He refused to take bribe and refused to pause the result he was announcing. He didn't sell out neither did he comptomise. He put his life in the line and endangered his being.
Should Nigeria abandon such an arrow head that played the most critical role? ABIOLA was a participant and became victim like Atiku in the just concluded 2019 election.
Am not aware how Federal Government rewarded this rare breed. Did they just abandon him or will be throwing another fanfare on his behalf later?
Justice for June 12 is incomplete at the exclusion of Prof Humphrey Nwosu.
