OJI RIVER PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY WARD CHAIRMEN HON THANKGOD MBGAEJI PAYING VISIT TO ENuGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND HON. GEOFFREY ANAYO MBA

OJI RIVER PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY WARD CHAIRMEN HON THANKGOD MBGAEJI PAYING VISIT TO ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY AND HON. GEOFFREY ANAYO MBAH

The coalition of the Oji River PDP ward chairmen on the 19th July, 2019 paid a  courtesy call to the  Member Representing Oji River at the State Assembly.

The coalition of the Oji River Peoples Democratic Party ward chairmen, led by Hon. Thankgod Mgbeji yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the Member representing Oji River at the  Enugu State House of Assembly and also the  chairman, House committee on information and communication, Hon. Geoffrey Anayo Mbah. 

In his opening remark, the chairman  of the Awlaw ward, as well as the Leader of the group,  Hon Thankgod Mgbeji, thanked God for the  peaceful election and the successful inauguration in the state assembly and expressed their readiness to support Hon. Geoffrey Mbah in all ways, as the new PDP leader in Oji River Local Government,so as to move the party and  local government forward.  

Also, the Chairman Ugwuoba ward 1, Mr. Sunday Chukwu in his contribution  maintained  that the name 'Magic Mayor' was given to Hon. Mbah due to his performance  as the  caretaker Chairman of the council and expressed optimism that the magic will continue even in his new position and responsibility.

In his own  reaction, the  crowned Prince Mr Alexander Nwokeabia Ejiamatu, thanked the ward chairmen for their visit, and noted that the visit was as a result of the  prevailing peace in the local government and urged them to continue  to work in a harmony with their leader. 



He advised them to maintain good synergy  between those in local government and the state with a view to providing good governance to the people.

Responding, the chairman house committee on information and communication, Hon. Geoffrey  Mbah, thanked the ward chairmen, who he described as warlords, grassroot politicians and  heroes of the time.

He maintained that elections are over and enjoined them to synergise and maintain cordial relationship with everyone especially the stakeholders.

He told the people that he has three agenda for political and economic development of Oji River to wit;

1) To ensure that Oji River gets her quota in all the federal institutions in Oji River, so as to create employment for the teaming unemployed youth.

2) Oji River as one of the three gazetted urban cities in Enugu state receives adequate attention from state government so as to attract development in the area. 
He stressed the need to develop Oji River to the status deserving of an urban city, like Nsukka and Enugu metropolis and

3) To ensure that Oji River with her twenty wards gets a new state constituency to attract futher development in the area.

He finally prayed God to bless them and the good people of Oji River.

At the end, the entire ward chairmen were lightly entertained as  they presented a gift to the Hon member.
