IT IS ALWAYS OUR DUTY TO REACH OUT TO THE LESS PRIVILEGES IN OUR SOCIETY - MRS. PEACE UDEMEZUE ; AS SHE EXTENDS PALLIATIVES TO OJI RIVER CENTRE FOR LEPROSY TODAY BEING 17TH MAY 2020.
The Chairperson of Oji River Local Government Area, Mrs. Peace Udemezue, continued her benevolence/ gift of palliatives at the Oji River Leprosy Home; where she further shared food items to the leprosy home inmates. In her opening speech, Mrs. Udemezue reiterated that she was only extending the palliatives from HER EXCELLENCY, MRS. MONICA UGWUANYI to the most vulnerable and less privileged in our society. She further pointed that the gesture was borne out of the motherly love and concern from Her Excellency, in ensuring that indigents of Enugu State are catered for, especially in the face of the present global health challenge. The items presented to the home includes yam, indomie, detergents, rice , beans, onions, cash donation and other household items.
Present at the Oji River Leprous Centre today was also the Executive Chairman of Oji River Local Council - Hon. Barr. Frank Udemezue, who pointed out that his reason for joining the first Lady on this mission is simply because our amiable Governor remains the brain behind the gestures. He noted that the Governor is a supportive Father who will always cherish every effort geared towards resuscitating the plight of the less privileged ones in our state. He further charged the beneficiaries of the gift items to continue praying for our dear Governor and his Wife as well as other persons at various leadership positions in our state.
In their response, the Leader of Oji River Leprosy welfare Association acknowledged that this is about the fourth time that the Executive Chairman and his wife is visiting them within the three months that he was sworn into office; an indication that He really have them at heart. He thanked the Executive Governor and his wife for not abandoning them even in this critical period. Their prayer remains that God will always protect and accord all our leaders with more wisdom for the task ahead. They also prayed that soonest, this covid-19 pandemic will become a story in our society at large.
